About
Bristol Bar Society
The University of Bristol has a worldwide reputation, attracting some of the country’s best students and most reputable employers. The University of Bristol Bar Society aims to live up to these standards by equipping students with the knowledge and experience necessary to making informed career decisions and succeeding as advocates at the Bar; a notoriously competitive profession.
Throughout the academic year we organise: talks from barristers, judges and alumni; hold advocacy training workshops in collaboration with BPC/BTC providers; visit the Inns of Court and the Supreme Court; hold networking events; and of course the popular Mock Trial, which marks the culmination of the academic year at the University of Bristol Law School. This is just a taster of what we have on offer, with Diversity Fortnight and other one-off events taking place throughout the year. We are also in close contact with the Inns of Court and Chambers and often send students to external events, such as the Inns of Court Universities Dinners.
The Bar Society is open to everybody; whether you are a Law or non-Law student, we are here for those who would like to find out more about becoming a barrister, have an interest in advocacy and the law in general, or have already decided that this is the profession for them.
